  6. By Gary Barnum Customizers started lowering their cars and trucks as early as the late ’40s by using sandbags in their trunks, cutting their spring coils, etc. By the late ’50s, the practice was outlawed. But in 1959, a hydraulic system was developed so riders could raise or lower their cars and beat the law. Our RLC Exclusive 1969 Chevy® C-10 pays tribute to the lowrider—with a new Hot Wheels feature allowing you to raise or lower it! SOLD OUT With a twist of the switch on the C-10’s chassis, you can raise the car to “Street” mode, or lower it to “Slam’d” mode. You can run it “low and slow,” or you can run it raised. Take a little trip and see… Make sure you’re not too slow when this edition is offered at HWC on 1/21/20. Besides the new special feature, this release sports a Spectraflame root beer finish, cream side and rear panels, and Real Riders 5-spoke wheels. It rests in a felt-lined blister frame within a decorative outer box. Specs: Features: Switch to raise or lower truck suspension Body Color: Spectraflame root beer Deco: Authentic manufacturer logos Body Type: ZAMAC Wheels: Real Riders 5-spoke wheels Base: Full-metal, matte-black-painted chassis Window Color: Medium smoke-tinted Interior Color: Brown Packaging: Felt-lined blister frame in decorative outer box Each vehicle features an individually numbered sticker (xxx/12,500) Availability: Available Only to 2019 RLC Members (until item is sold out): 1/21/20 at 9 a.m. PT Pricing and Purchase Limits: Priced at $24.99 plus shipping and processing each; extra charges may apply for express shipping or special handling (customers shipping to Canada may be required to pay additional shipping charges or taxes) We do offer international shipping to other countries – please see shipping costs and details here (international shipping availability subject to change) Limit of ONE (1) per 2019 RLC Membership (if quantities remain, limits may be increased or lifted at our sole discretion) Refunds only, no exchanges Production cars may vary from the photos shown. 10. By Gary Barnum The first mass-produced cars in America began to roll out of Detroit right about the turn of the century (1900, not 2000). But it appears the automobile production really accelerated in the mid-century with heavy-duty steel vehicles. Today, estimates put the number of cars produced in Michigan close to two million! We pay homage to some of the many classics with our American Steel series at Walmart. These editions really highlight some of the muscle behind American Steel, and it seems like everyone has a favorite or, most likely, favorites. If you’re strong enough, you can pull these favorites out of your local Walmart beginning in December. Fast & Furious Mix 5 Rewinds Time!

By Allen Voivod Our last Fast & Furious Premium Assortment mix for 2019 is a bit of a high-concept idea. It started like this: What if we took some of the freewheeling cars you know from the global blockbuster franchise, looked at previous generations of those cars, and made them look like their modern-day movie counterparts? That's how you get "Fast Rewind," the fifth and final mix of the year! All-metal castings and Real Riders wheels come standard, as does the level of detail any car aficionado would deeply appreciate. As for the extras, look carefully at the blister cards. You'll see each of the five racing against the backdrop of a nighttime cityscape. But if you look at each one's reflection in the asphalt, you'll see the newer-generation version of the car that appears onscreen! With the migration comes a number of significant upgrades, including (but not limited to): The forums will be mobile-optimized, for a better experience on phones and tablets. The ability to follow conversations and get updates on new replies has been revamped and improved. Private messaging between forum members will feature a new and easier-to-use interface. Before October 28th, we recommend that you do the following: Save a copy (on your own computer or device) of any messages in your inbox that you want to keep. Messages in your forum mailboxes will not be migrated to the new platform. Download copies of any images from your photo gallery, as a precaution against the unexpected. The plan is for all photos to be preserved, though the photo gallery functionality will be returning at a later date. But we recommend downloading copies of them just in case. Please note: We expect to go live by 11/8. So it won’t be too long before you can access the new and improved version of the HWC/RLC forums.
