Old Glory in New Series at Walmart!

By Gary Barnum

The flag of the United States has a complex history. Did you know there have been more than 25 designs of the “Stars and Stripes” version used since it first unfurled in 1777? And did you also know historians can’t definitively credit Betsy Ross with its first design? Let’s celebrate this interesting emblem of liberty with a Hot Wheels Stars & Stripes series at Walmart!

While generally credited with the design of the first Stars and Stripes flag, Betsy Ross was likely part of a small group of individuals who had input into its development. Francis Hopkinson, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, claimed credit for its initial design — and he was a naval flag designer! As for what the colors mean, it is said that red represents valor and hardiness, white represents purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

Paying tribute to the Star-Spangled Banner (a term courtesy of Francis Scott Key), these Hot Wheels editions take the elements of our flag to new heights. Wave them proudly in your collection! Find them at Walmart.

One last tidbit for you. Do you know where the “Old Glory” nickname came from? It was first uttered by Captain William Driver in 1831, a shipmaster out of Salem, Massachusetts.

Got mine. Actually found them at a local WM. Distribution so bad around here we rarely see new or exclusive things (Zamac bins rarely if ever show up around here for the last 3 or 4 years)

They look great to me, can't wait to get a set before they get shamed into oblivion for being too patriotic. Very nice but.... Maybe you could put "Bureau Of Land Management" on them in order to keep up with times.

I found ONE complete set of 10, & no extras.  I put them in my cart.  A guy came by 10 minutes later ... very sad.  I felt for him, but was glad for me!

Got mine today. (Surprised to see them for the first time, YESTERDAY. Wasn't a whole flag's worth, so, I left them hanging.) Found a full flag's worth today. These should be sold in complete sets, not to be picked apart.🇺🇸🏁

I think these are 1.50 each so that’s a twenty dollar bill to play with your Red White And Blue Emotions

First off the store has to stock their shelves. Have not stocked anything new for 6 weeks (mainline) at Walmart.
