By Gary Barnum

Did you miss the Red Line Club membership sale earlier this year? Well, we’ve got good news for you! We’re making more 2019 Red Line Club memberships available. So if you’ve been missing out on HWC and RLC editions, this is a good place to get in; membership includes the RLC Exclusive Custom Camaro®!

The Membership Kit:

For this year’s membership car, we’ve chosen a favorite of many collectors: the classic Custom Camaro® with opening hood and Neo-Classics Redline wheels.

Specs:

  • Features: Opening hood
  • Body Color: Spectraflame black
  • Deco: Thin red stripe across front
  • Body Type: ZAMAC
  • Wheels: Neo-Classics Redline wheels
  • Base: Full-metal, chrome-plated chassis and engine
  • Window Color: Clear
  • Interior Color: Red w/ black-painted steering wheel

Also included with your membership kit is a vintage-style 2019 RLC metal button featuring an image of the car. Plus you’ll receive a cool 2019 RLC membership patch, designed by our own Steve “HWC Van” Vandervate.

The Membership:

You can start to enjoy the membership benefits outlined below when you become a member of the 2019 Red Line Club. The membership is a great value at $24.99—the same price as when it began in 2002!

RLC Priority Window: RLC members get an exclusive Priority Window on most of our online sales. Only RLC members can place orders during this Priority Window. The length of the Priority Window will be announced for each sale, but it will not be less than 24 hours. Our cars frequently don’t last past the Priority Window, so don’t miss the best chance you’ll have of getting your favorites.

RLC Exclusive Cars: We’ll continue our innovative and exciting RLC sELECTIONs series this year. It means we’ll add another scorching hot release chosen with direct input from you — our RLC members! It’s your chance to help us with the creation process of an edition you want to see — and you help us choose color and wheels, too. Only club members get to vote for these, and we only offer them to club members when they become available.

You may also notice other RLC Exclusive releases. Whenever this happens, you’ll definitely want to make sure your membership is up to date—if you’re not a member, you won’t be able to get these RLC Exclusive releases.

RLC Rewards Program: As a Red Line Club member, you will earn one Rewards Point per dollar spent on most HWC items in the shop* — not just on HWC Series editions, as in previous years. You’ll also be able to earn Rewards Points on orders you place outside of the Priority Window! Some exceptions may apply, and will be noted on the individual product pages where that’s the case.

Later in the year, you will be given Rewards Codes to redeem for special merchandise and other various items. We’ll have more Rewards details for you in a separate article later, but the thing to remember is that you can’t get any Rewards if you don’t join the club and order merchandise.

Free Shipping: As an RLC member, you will receive free Standard Shipping on any order totaling $49 or more**! The more you purchase, the more you save.

Also, certain HWC site content is only for RLC eyes – you don’t want to miss that kind of information.

So if you missed your first chance at the 2019 RLC Membership and that Custom Camaro®, this is your chance to jump in the Club!

*Rewards Points are earned on product purchase price after any coupons and discounts are applied, and exclude dollars spent on shipping, tax, and membership fees. Points are earned on specified items throughout the earning period for use on site during the Redemption Period late in 2019.

**Valid after discounts and before shipping, handling, and/or taxes are added and applies automatically at checkout. Must select Standard Shipping to qualify. Not applicable to initial RLC membership purchase; will apply to purchases made thereafter. Excludes shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Puerto Rico, international, P.O. Box, and APO/FPO addresses. Expires at 11:59 p.m. ET on 12/31/2019.

Packaging and Quantities:

  • Each membership vehicle is packaged on a blister card with a collectible button in a Kar Keepers clamshell case

Availability:

  • Available to HWC account holders beginning 5/21/19 at 9 a.m. PT
(Signing up for HWC is quick and easy… click here to get started!)

Pricing and Purchase Limits:

  • Priced at $24.99 plus shipping and processing; customers shipping to Canada may be required to pay an additional shipping charge
  • We do offer international shipping to additional countries; for the list of available countries and more shipping options and information, click here (international shipping availability subject to change)
  • Membership is limited to one per person/email address
  • Refunds only, no exchanges

Items and dates subject to change. Production cars may vary from the photos shown. Mattel reserves the right to modify the color, decorations and wheel type.

I wonder how many additional memberships are being sold and what that might mean on RLC release cars that already sell out in less than 4 minutes. More members mean more people trying for limited cars, they gonna start selling out in 2 minutes? Or might they increase production on RLC release cars to account for more RLC memberships.

On the positive side the 20 k produced is probably less than a STH rumored to be at least 25K produced (or more) last I heard.

numbers for each release are set well before the year even begins. There's no way they can go in now and up the numbers for unreleased items. We do know that the Willys Gasser is 10,000.
And LOL at guessing numbers on supers...

Can anyone confirm this will be the "exact" same in every detail as previously released? Sorry if dumb question.

LOL. It's already nearly impossible to get a limited edition car, so why not make it even harder? Might as well try your luck at a casino.

More RLC memberships being sold???? It is almost impossible to get one of the release cars nowadays. I am with you Irockhound. I need to sell my membership and never buy another one. This is a joke already.

Don't sign up the membership is a hustle and scam. They promise access to member only cars that only a few elite members and multiple account holding scalpers get access to rare cars. I signed in 30 minutes before a sale was offered. 4 minutes into the sale I was given opportunity to buy the car then poor it says" sold out"! What a joke! You make 20,000 plus membership cars in February of the most sought after casting that was not even limited edition numbered as you done in past years knowing darn well you were going to make another 20,000 cars and give more fish a chance to get hooked thus making the Camaro value worthless and more produced than a Super treasure hunt. It's shady real shady ...straight greed and just so American that all you care about is money not people or collectors. I will never sign up again for this club as its a scam just like a television preacher!

Wow, the uninformed misguided people here is astounding. This is NOT another 20k memberships. They were held over from the initial number. Counts of releases this year are already set in stone. . Everyone will NOT get one...this has always been the way it is . Nothing is stopping anyone from getting a second hous hold membership. Being logged in early for sales never guarantees you a spot. It never has.

My two cents,..... everything should be numbered, including all convention pieces like the pink cars. It's a part of collecting experience, the club won't change based on negative remarks. If you don't like the direction the club is going then the ultimate slap in the face is to quit buying product.

Oh good. . . like there aren't ENOUGH scalpers/resellers here already! Betcha a lot of the "new" memberships will just be more members signing up for additional accounts! Do us all a favor. . . go pallet raid a Walmart or door warm a Target, but leave this club alone!

I have been an RLC Member for 15 straight years. Missed some and got some. Some of the cars I missed I was lucky to get later in the shop when their were CC declines, returns or leftovers and etc. One thing for sure joining the RLC to me is well worth it. I get a chance to buy a car that is 3X or more on the auction sites. Just joining my Membership Car is 2X the cost of what the Membership is on the auction sites. I will continue to join and will try for most cars offered. My opinion only.

Wait—so almost halfway into the year a new member will lose out on 5 months of membership opportunities, but you're still charging for a full year's membership? By my math, this "second chance" should cost about $14.50. As much as I like another opportunity to become a member again, why do I feel like this is a money grab?

Looks good. You are on the right track. More classic American muscle cars please, from the 50s, 60s, 70s. Please bring back the funny cars with the lift up body's. The double rivet body's are boring. Please make another new series of the Dragstrip Demons Funny Cars with lift up body's from todays race teams. How about a 50th celibration of the Apollo 11 moon landing using all 1969 muscle cars with hood tampos of the famous 5 photos taken on the moon and the NASA logo? How about a series of 1940s cars with WW2 aircraft nose art on the hoods as tampos? Use top aces, top bombers nose art. How about 5 branch US Military arm services set with Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard logos tampos on hoods and sides? Keep up the good work, you have a new Boomer generation of collectors now.??

Feeling the same as a lot of people posting. More memberships is just a money making move by mattel. They are already, upsetting a lot of people who have no chance to little chance at getting RLC exclusive vehicle, cause they are selling out so fast and the ordering system is shutting people out. So they increase production of the RLC cars and devalue the collectability of them. I see this a company selling out on its base and trying get as much money as possible before the Chinese tariff , drive down their sales.
