Hot Wheels Roadkill Rotsun + 1 Year of MotorTrend’s Streaming Service!

By Gary Barnum

In case you missed it: the "Rotsun" was created from a rusted-out 1971 Datsun 240Z by Roadkill, one of MotorTrend's exclusive hit shows. Is it the wrong thing done right? We can definitely say it’s right for your collection!

Thanks to the Hot Wheels partnership with MotorTrend, you can pick up the Rotsun and a one-year subscription to MotorTrend’s streaming service! MotorTrend is the world’s premier destination for automotive entertainment, featuring original shows, subscriber exclusives, and live events. Stream it anywhere, anytime, ad free!

To take advantage of this two-part offer, click this link..

PLEASE NOTE: This is a separate offer from the two-car offer from March which included the ’71 Datsun 240Z. If you purchased that offer, you will still receive those cars. This is a limited time offer, and supplies are limited.

When you place your order, your MotorTrend subscription will be activated immediately. Due to legal measures passed halting most business operations to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, shipping of the car will be delayed until further notice. You will be notified directly by Mattel via email as soon as this item will be shipped to you. We anticipate that you'll receive the "Rotsun" vehicle approximately 20 weeks after we begin to ship the product, which we anticipate will begin in November. These dates are subject to change. Please see the Official Rules for more details about anticipated shipping dates.

I only received the one without the real riders. How long do I have to wait? I’ve contacted support and all they tell me is there’s a production issue and they were only able to send me one at the moment. This is months ago btw.

I called Mattel/Fisher Price and got an approximate shipping date for the Rotsun. If I had any questions at all I always call and get help as soon as they can with no exceptions. They'll help if possible. The number I use is 18005248657. The mailing date is 11/20/2020 for mtjhe Rotsun\.

Ugh. I see that now. Be nice if they'd extend the offer for returning subscribers, like a reward for brand loyalty.

I was on a monthly sub. All i did was cancel it and then sign up for the year

I shouldn't have let the comments bother me, but they did at the time.  If someone wanted to have a real discussion with me about it, I think they should have asked me why I don't like it.  Instead you both decided that I must not like it because of this or that.  You seemed to imply that there is something wrong with me for not liking it.  I didn't appreciate that.

As a member, I think I have a right to express my opinion about the products being produced.  You're right, I don't have to buy it.  I just want them to know that not everyone loves it.  Maybe they value our opinions.  Maybe they don't.  It doesn't matter.

It was only meant to be lighthearted. Sorry that you were offended by it. The Rotsun really has become an icon of the show and you would understand it's cult following that it has built over the last 6 years or so. As mentioned prior it has had multiple engines in it, several "science" experiments done with it and has just been an overall fan favorite for years and is kind of a no-brainer to make. Even if you don't like the car, there is probably something on MTOD that you would like, then whenever this diecast calamity shows up at your door, sell it for twice you paid for it and enjoy your free entertainment since it is a Datsun and the hype $ is real.
