Hot Wheels 2020 Car Culture Mix 4: Thrill Climbers!

By Allen Voivod

All-metal castings. Real Riders wheels. Mixes designed especially with collectors in mind. That's the deal with our Car Culture series, and the fourth mix for 2020 is going vertical! "Thrill Climbers" celebrates one of the oldest forms of car racing – going up an inclined road course as fast as you can.

If there's one other awesome thing for which Car Culture is known – it's known for a lot of awesome things, actually, but ride with us on this – it's known for premium authentic styling and details. In the case of this mix, the deco is inspired by the liveries of real-life hill-climbing racers. And this mix features two new castings, and two other cars sporting die-cast chassis for the first time. This hill-climbing business is a big deal!

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't this mix 3 new castings (IdR, RS200, 037) and two new metal base (934.5 & Sport Quattro)? If not, what are the other RS200s, cause we all need more of that casting! Also, this mix is 💥

Does anyone know when these will hit store shelves in Canada? I don't want to pay eBay premiums to get them, but I also don't want to miss out...

I like the Car Culture series, but sadly, I find nothing in this mix interesting.

LOVE this livery... especially the Quattro, or the 200... well maybe the... (well. you get the picture).  It is different, and 'inspired by actuals...'!

REAL RIDERS and great deco!

I had intended to pass on this set due to having nothing in common with me. Saw the whole set on the pegs, gave them one hard look and I was sold. Never knew about this type of racing, so, thank you for the spotlight.🏁

This set was one of my most anticipated release. I got mine, and you can see them on the link below.

Also, check out the Hot Wheels Pikes Peak Celica and Pikes Peaks Tacoma. I believe these two cars, see uploaded photos, from the 1998 and 1999 First Editions are Hot Wheels first serious foray into Hill Climbing competition. See more of them on the link below.

This set looks great! We are a little slow getting these at the local stores this year, but I will definitely be on the hunt for them!

I just found the whole set yesterday evening at Target here in Kernersville NC.  What a set! It's got to be my favorite so far.  New great castings, and no duds:)

Yes, true (LOL!)

It’s maybe all these tail-end baby boomers stopping to get their joint pain meds, walking down the toy isle and remembering the old World Rally Campionship and Speed Vision videos...(no electric VW then, leave that one...) I’m not in that bunch, of course. 🙄
