Get the Power of American Steel at Walmart!

By Gary Barnum

The first mass-produced cars in America began to roll out of Detroit right about the turn of the century (1900, not 2000). But it appears the automobile production really accelerated in the mid-century with heavy-duty steel vehicles. Today, estimates put the number of cars produced in Michigan close to two million! We pay homage to some of the many classics with our American Steel series at Walmart.

These editions really highlight some of the muscle behind American Steel, and it seems like everyone has a favorite or, most likely, favorites. If you’re strong enough, you can pull these favorites out of your local Walmart beginning in December.

No luck in Austin so far in finding any of these. I must not be quick enough. I'm still seeing hundreds of mainlines from Christmas.

I love this set, I found 6 out of the ten. Hotwheels is always coming out with new great cars and sets. I love Mopar cars but these are cool too. Thank you Mattel.  #hotwheelsfreak #redlinerichie #rlcmemberforever

Yep I've got them all. The hardest to find was the #1 '64 Galaxy 500, I finally found it so that completed my collection. No on to my last Boulevard car #5 '83 Chevy Silverado 4×4.  I'm very happy that Hotwheels keeps coming out with these new cars Mopars, Shelby's, King Kuda's, etc. I love those old muscle cars, I think that some of the new cars are just as cool as the Supers this year. Just my opinion.   So thanks once again to Mattel and Hotwheels for my continued happiness and excitement collecting these awesome cars.  #mattelfreak #redlinerichie1970 #rlcmemberforlife

I Finally found 2 hanging on the pegs of my local Walmart on February 7th. I have visited my Walmart 3 days a week every week since Christmas and it has been dismal. I visited the same local Walmart yesterday and nothing, went there this morning and they had one of each car from this set and that was all, almost as if someone is only putting a few out at a time. Hot Wheels pegs have been extremely lacking in new product at the 3 locations near me or at least with 25 miles of me.

Just started collecting about a month ago. I have acquired this complete set!  6 Fords and 0 Mopars but it's still an amazing collection of classic Detroit Iron! How about next year you all do a 30 car set with 9 cars from 20200324_182241.thumb.jpg.dd0c46bb5b2d940cd5dee9677584a7b7.jpgeach of the big 3 automakers and 3 AMC classics?  I'd love to see a Javelin, a Gremlin and a Pacer. A Pacer STH would be awesome!  Sorry I got the wrong picture and can't figure out how to remove it.  Here's the one of the American Steel cars.

I was finally able to find (some) of these during the Corona lock-down.

But there were no Shelbys or Galaxies :(

So I picked up a couple of extras (pic below) in hopes someone is missing one of these and wants to trade.

Again, looking for the:

Custom ’64 Galaxie

’69 Shelby GT 500

Thanks
