Of the three Dollar Generals available to me, two had empty shelves and one had many cars but all from newer cases than the rules specify. I went ahead and bought 20 cars from them just in case with the oldest cars being 2018 gold series 510 wagons while the newest cars are the 22B blue Subarus. If I mail these in, will I not receive the car then? I’m a new collector and I’m simply interested in one but this all seems way too difficult as far as the limitations of car models. 😞

We don't have many DG's in NJ...I hit up the closest one last week and was fortunate enough to get 20 cars, with only 3  that we already had. None were DG limited editions.

Good luck!

Negative seems none of the DG stores have received these shipments yet.

Not anywhere near us as well. All empty. Trucks are carrying essential supplies only for a while from what I was told. I'm guessing this offer will extend? I was hoping to find information from an HWC official in regard to the current situation.

From the rules;

"buy any 20 (twenty) Hot Wheels® 1:64 basic cars from the 2016 to present"

Buy any 20 cars from 2016 to present.

I printed the official rules and took them to DG, sure enough there were a few hundred on the pegs that matched the lot numbers in the rules.

I only bought 20 so there could get them if needed.

Hopefully we'll get this car before the end of times. :)

'basic cars from the 2016 to present assortment numbers 5785, C4982, or L2593' so does this not mean present cars limited by these numbers? Because that would mean cars from when the the blue 2000 GT-R first came out as far as I know 😕

That is a fantastic idea if you can. Great for the kids and adults alike. I hope you are able to do so. It's little things like this we need to keep our spirits up during the difficulties we face.

Can you pick any 20 Dollar General Hot Wheels? Or does it have to be from 2020 line?

2016 to present means just what it says, a card from 2000 cannot be used even though the number matches. Any card prior to 2016 can not be used for this mail-in, how is that not understandable?

I went to DG down the street from my house on 3/15 was there waiting in line with people that were there for tp...I met a nice guy that was also there for the Hot Wheels he was in line behind me. We each grabbed 20 and I was not rude to him at all very pleasant guy chatted a little bit and parted ways. I waited for him to grab his 20 and depart before grabbing another 20 for myself giving me 40 total. I went back today 3/21 and they had 1 Hot Wheels...seemed they did not restock since the 15th. Ran into another guy at a Target and he was all about blocking me from even looking...I could have been a jerk and made comments but not my style. He was also bragging about how he had doubles of almost all the current treasure hunts, worked at Walmart and had friends at other Walmarts etc etc. I obviously ran into a reseller and won't go to that Target or surrounding Walmarts anymore feel like this guy basically lives at these stores. I don't remember it being this cut throat when I had stopped collecting 10-15 years ago.

That happens here from time to time at Walmart.  What I did instead of not going, I went more often and tried beating the resellers.  Some come from out of town so the more I go and the less they find I'm hoping that they stop their madness.  I'm just lucky I can go every day. The stores are close by so it helps. Also, I pretty much know the real collectors here so we can always exchange.

New to Hot Wheel collecting. The rules say 20 basics from 2016 to present but from specific assortments.

How can you tell what cars are in those specific assortments? Thanks for your help

The assortment code is right above the bar code.. The code that starts with the letter L is main lines marked for the USA. The one that starts with C if I remember is the cards with international markings. Those have every thing on the back in 4 languages. The assortment code that's all numbers is short card main lines. Any regular mainline you find on their pegs will work unless it's really old like 2015 old.

I have never done one of these mail in deals, but I did this one. I'm pretty sure I did it 100% correct. Does hot wheels let you know if you did it wrong when they receive your order, or do you just wait to see if you did it right when the car finally ships?

Hey all, I got my 20, completed my online order and printed off the form. The instructions state "cut out and past the top portion of this page on the outside of your envelope or package" Is that referring to the address section to the right under "Order Successful"? Do I also include the barcode to the right of the mailing address?

Thanks in advance!

Drew

I've personally never seen a Dollar General in my area with 20 Hot Wheels at any one time. I hope that's changed I'm about to go check.

They will send you an email if there's a mistake in your order, such as a non-qualifying card or two.  If that happens, call Customer Service, and they will let you correct it.
